Sapphire Gemfields
Just 45-minutes west of Emerald, the Sapphire Gemfields are one of the largest sapphire bearing areas of the world. Take a tour of underground mining operations, learn about Australia’s rich gem mining history, explore gemshops and galleries or try your hand at fossicking .
The National Trust listed Railway Station
This historic gem not only connects you to the heart of the town but also takes you back to the golden age of rail travel. Marvel at the timeless architecture, explore the railway museum, and soak in the nostalgic atmosphere. Another ‘must see’ is the ancient fossilised tree that’s found at the nearby Emerald Town Hall, estimated to be over 250 million years old.
Fairbairn Dam, Lake Maraboon

Emerald Cinema
Situated on the same street as the Emerald Inn, the Emerald Cinema is a charming, vintage-style movie theatre showcasing the latest Hollywood hits. Established in 1996, this cinema is under the dedicated ownership of Stephen Goddard, a proud Emerald local with a deep passion for film.
Capricornian Restaurant

The Maraboon Tavern and Bottle Shop is located just down Esmond Street from the Emerald Inn. The Maraboon Liquor Drive-Thru offers one of the largest selections in town and takeaways are also available over the Maraboon Tavern bar until midnight every night.
